Student Council
logline
Student Council is an animated comedy about Xavier, a socially invisible Year 10 student whose only friend is a pet rock. When he's unexpectedly forced onto the student council, Xavier mistakes the opportunity for a path to power and launches a campaign to take control of the school from the inside.
synopsis
Set within the halls of Harold Holt Memorial Senior High School, the series reimagines everyday school life as a miniature political battlefield, where student elections, playground rivalries, and pencil-case scandals are treated with the seriousness of a national crisis. As Xavier's schemes grow increasingly ambitious, he finds himself caught between his desire for influence and his growing connection to the people around him.
Blending sharp satire with distinctly Australian humour, Student Council explores friendship, belonging, and adolescent ambition through a world where the politics are petty, the egos are enormous, and every setback feels like the end of the world.
Student Council has received development funding from Screen Australia. Looking to seek production funding in 2027 with a projected release date sometime in 2028.
